- Physician: The physician is a key member of the hospice team. Under the physician's direction, the hospice team specializes in pain and symptom management. Serenity Hospice Inc. utilizes the patient's primary physician for care as well as our Medical Director who is knowledgeable in end of life care and directs the medical care of the patient. If the patient has no physician we will provide care through our Medical Director services.
- Nurses: Serenity nurses are specialists in end of life care; it is all we do at Serenity Hospice. Nurses are on call 24 hours a day 7 days a week. All our nurses are Registered nurses who coordinate the hospice care provided for the patient.
- Home Health Aides: Provide personal care as determined by the case manager and the patient or family. Home health aides can do bathing, shampoo, personal care and companion care as well as light homemaking duties.
- Social Services: Serenity Social Services provides any services related to social work, community resources, finance and counseling issues.
- Spiritual Care: Serenity provides spiritual guidance for those individuals who wish for this service and we work with your individual minister as well if you so desire.
- Bereavement Services: Provides grief counseling including anticipatory grief. Serenity hospice offers a variety of counseling services including monthly meetings and monthly mailings of Journeys. We can also provide one on one counseling as needed.
- Therapy: Serenity Hospice contracts with therapy services as they are needed in end of life care for pain and symptom management.
- Dietary: Serenity Hospice has a Dietician who is a part of our team and monitors patients nutrition and any problems that might develop.
- Hospice care in nursing facilities: We provide care in many nursing facilities throughout our service areas. Individuals in nursing facilities or assisted living facilities have a right to hospice care. Hospice care enhances the quality of care provided to the patient in the nursing facility and assist with the pain and symptom management to decrease unnecessary suffering.
- Pharmacist: Advises the team about medication requirements and provides necessary supplies.
- Volunteers: Serenity angel volunteer service provides companion care, shopping, errands, listening, and provide some relief for the primary caregivers. Volunteers can also do office work and fundraising activities for the Serenity Hospice (not-for-profit) foundation.
